Use the Green car park!

Green is very much the theme at Meteor Parking's car park in Walkergate, Durham City. The introduction of a new individual bay lighting system earlier this year has not only brightened the car park for motorists but, along with other management initiatives, such as cordoning off parts of the car park at quiet times, has resulted in an amazing 68 per cent reduction in electricity consumption.

The car park has 500 covered spaces and is manned 24 hours a day, while CCTV cameras offer added security. Since opening two and a half years ago the car park has had no incidents of criminal activity, a record which has earned it the Association of Chief Police Officers' 'Park Mark' following a rigorous inspection.

Meteor would like to thank everyone for their support over the years, from every motorist who has discovered the benefits of using the car park at Walkergate, to Durham City Vision and other charitable organisations with whom we are working with to promote the social, spiritual, economic and cultural life of the city.
